Luka Dončic has done the unprecedented, the unthinkable, unimaginable 73 points. He joins a elite list, tying Wilt Chamberlin for fourth most points scored in a a single game.Yet, he was not the only one putting up big numbers over the past couple days. Devin Booker and Karl-Anthony Towns both scored 60 points even though both there teams would lose the game.Joel Embiid dropped 70 points a couple days before Luka, looking like the most dominate center in Philly since Wilt Chamberlin himself. However, when players like Luka score big numbers, people always compare it to one time, one game, the time when Kobe score 81 points against the Raptors. So let’s compare.Firstly, it’s important to note that Kobe had 8 more points than Luka.Even though it seem like a lot, once you’re scoring in the 70’s, 8 points can be all the difference. Secondly, Kobe played 3 mins less than Luka.So straight off the bat, Kobe’s game has 2 thing going for him. Then you look at shooting percentage. Kobe shot a staggering 46 shots from the field, that being 3 shots more than minutes he played during the game. Luka shot 33 shots and made 25. Kobe made 28 of his 46 shots. This shows that even though Kobe may have scored more, what Luka may had done might be more impressive. Kobe shot 18 of 20 from the free throw line, Luka shot 15 of 16. You start to add up the shooting percentages, the amounts of free throws shot, and you start to see it. We just witnessed the greatest scoring game in the history of the league from Luka Dončič.
